Crackin new review, no pun intended

Released 23 November 2010

MELODIC REVOLUTION RECORDS

I’m reminded of the glory days of the likes of Reo Speedwagon/Outfield by the opener ‘Broken Promises’, while the
rollicking ‘Masquerade’ draws on the heritage of Zep/Purple, retro ‘Black and blue’ has an appealing Beatles/ELO chorus and ‘Call out my name’ is a bluesy (Hodgson-chorus) Supertramp vibe with the same choral sound used to good effect on the jolly rocking ‘Get it while you can’ and ‘Now’s the time’. The album ends with a Motorhead meets Hodgson romp, but not before my favourite, the classy ‘Anything for You’, ever so slightly Zep with an epic chorus. There is certainly a high energy feel throughout this twelve track album, with some searing harmonies, tight playing,
catchy choruses and riffs. Imagine the aforementioned Hodgson going for a damn good rock-out, and you’re not far off with this uplifting release.
